FinishMaster and the Ford EcoBoost Challenge

It isn’t everyday that someone smiles broadly and hands me the keys to a brand new Ford F-150, no questions asked. So, as I took them and walked toward the large red truck my first thought, of course, was how far I could get before I was caught. Mexico was too far away, but Canada? Maybe. My dreams were cut short though as a Ford Team Member climbed into the seat next to me and began pointing out the myriad of features.

It was a perfect summer day in Indianapolis, and I was at the Ford EcoBoost Challenge at our local FinishMaster branch. As one of Ford’s largest fleet vehicle customers, they offered us the opportunity to hold a private EcoBoost challenge event for our team members, which we happily accepted. There were five different Ford vehicles for folks to test drive, but the most popular selection by far was the one in which I was currently seated.

After driving a late 90’s S-10 for the past few years, sitting in the new F-150 was akin to being in a spaceship.  I turned the key to start the powerful 3.5L V8 engine and started my test drive around the half-mile oval around our branch.

Needless to say, the Ford F-150 drove like a dream, and I gladly snuck in an extra lap. The vehicles were only part of the reason I enjoyed the Ford EcoBoost Challenge. The entire team from Ford who came out to work the event was amazing. Within moments of opening their trailer, they had the tent raised, the table set, vehicles lined up, and the complimentary ice cream ready to be served.

I was fortunate enough to drive some other vehicles, such as the Fiesta ST, and ride along with my peers as they drove around the course. The reactions were always positive.  Our FinishMaster team members asked a lot of questions about the vehicles and related options, and the Ford team was eager to help. I was super impressed by the team at Ford. They know how to put on a spectacular event, and on behalf of all those who attended thank you!

By the way, I Googled it, and I could get to the Canadian border in about 4 ½ hours. Just saying.
