Kicking Off Our 50th Year

A lot can happen in 50 years.

Let’s take it back to where it all began for FinishMaster—April 25, 1968, when Jim White completed the first transaction at the first branch in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Since then, we have grown from this single outlet to more than 200 branches, across 33 states, with over 1,900 team members.

Throughout the years, we have remained dedicated to providing the ultimate customer experience and stayed true to our core values. Our passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable team members are the reason we have grown to be the national leader in the automotive aftermarket and are the reason we continue to grow. 

We want to use our 50th year to celebrate success, to thank our customers, to celebrate partnership, and to reflect on our journey this far.

To kick off the year, we’re throwing it back to an early version of our FM newsletter published in 1995. “FM Team Talk” shows how we have always shared in each other’s successes in the FinishMaster family.

In this early edition of our newsletter, we celebrated our first expansion out of the Great Lakes region. November 1994, we acquired six new stores in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. These formerly Mobley-Foster and Adams chains were attractive to FinishMaster as the Texas market was heating up and presented many opportunities. With the addition of these acquisitions, our total number of locations increased to 29!

Throughout 2018, we want to continue this celebration by sharing stories from our team members. Send us your photos and experiences of special memories, milestones, or just a regular day at work. We want to hear your side of the story.
