Check out the second entry below and stay tuned for more interviews each month!

Name: Mike Sheedy

Title and Department: Regional Vice President / General Manager

Years with FinishMaster: 34

Location: Region 4 West

1. What are some of your day-to-day responsibilities? To drive value to our stakeholders, create an environment to achieve growth through organic sales, and develop people and empower the team to reach our collective goals.

2. What do you enjoy most about your job? Working with a great group of people - not only our own people but with our vendors and certainly our customers.

3. What are some of the challenges in your job? As much as we prepare and plan for tomorrow, the unforeseen market changes challenge me to remain flexible. Our consolidating industry brings both new challenges as well as new opportunities.

4. How has your work with FinishMaster impacted your life? It has cause me to grow beyond what I thought I was capable of accomplishing. Working for FinishMaster has stretched me professionally, allowing me to pursue leadership roles and to work alongside great people whom I learn from every day.

5. What is your favorite Core Value and why? A few favorites: speak and act honestly. Be a family. Reach for the highest star. We get one chance at this life and I want to make impact in the lives of people. I believe I need to give my best at all times and to care for those around me.

6. If you had to give one piece of advice to people just starting in their career with FinishMaster, what would it be? Give more than you get. It has always served me well.

7. Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing? In no particular order: traveling to foreign countries, seeing people enjoy my cooking, golfing, going to movies, Bible study, and spending time with family and friends.

8. Tell us about your family. I have been married to my wife, Janie, for 40 years this June 10th. We have one daughter, Erin, 34, who lives in San Francisco and works as a Marketing Manager. We also have 2 very lovable golden retrievers who just love to get into trouble.

9. What’s a fun fact about yourself? On our honeymoon in Hawaii I was brought up on stage at the “Don Ho Show” to sing “I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Weiner”.  Thus ended my singing career!

10. What is your favorite food and/or the last movie you watched? Favorite food is anything sweet and I mean anything. We most recently watched a rental: “As Good As It Gets”.
