Since joining the FinishMaster team in the fall of 2016, Samuel Lopez has proven himself to be a dependable leader, supportive team player, and valuable motivator for the New England district. With Sam’s assistance this area has experienced improvement in their processes, reorganization, and product coaching.
We have team members Dennis Seaver, National Business Development Manager, and Glen Ryan, Operations Manager, to thank for such a perfect addition to the FM family. While reporting to Glen, we have witnessed Sam exemplify FM’s Core Values. Sam has successfully Embraced Change by implementing new processes to help support our existing business. He has shown his commitment to Leave it Better than he Found It by reorganizing the Worcester branch’s tech area in 2017 – resulting in a better process for customer demos.
Sam isn’t afraid to Be Bold and Creative while also Pursuing Growth and Learning. He has taken it upon himself to introduce new products to his New England teammates, coach them on selling, and has assisted teaching classes for customers and team members at Davis Technical School. Not only does he share his knowledge, but he continually looks to master more in our industry. Sam has accomplished training with Spies and Norton over the last year and will soon become a SMART Champion Tech.
Taking on any and every project with a positive attitude and ability to create a team atmosphere, it is no surprise every team member in the New England area recognizes and appreciates Sam’s impact. However, Sam takes no credit and maintains a Be Humble mentality.
Sam was born and raised in Worcester, MA. Which, according to Sam’s helpful advice, is correctly pronounced “Woostah.” His father, Aristides Lopez, is originally from El Salvador while his mother, Rhodi Lopez, is a NYC born Puerto Rican. Sam was the second of three sons born to his parents on October 31st, 1985.
Sam believes his work ethic comes from the hardworking nature of his father and the creative and caring inclination of his mother. Worcester Vocational High School is where Sam’s passion for the industry turned into a career. As a sophomore, he started part-time at a local body shop, Advanced Auto Body. The shop became Sam’s home away from home, working here from the fall of 2003 after graduation until 2016.
His family is everything to him and he is very proud of his successful brothers who work in military communications and at the Worcester Fire Department. Sam is married to his wife, Zenny, and has two daughters: Zaylee, 14, and Zelena, 6. His girls are the reason he is always striving to do better.
In his free time, Sam enjoys spending time with family and friends, mountain biking, hiking, working on his own project cars and motorcycles, and coaching his daughter’s basketball teams. He also recently joined a volleyball league his wife plays on to “get on her level” as she says.
Sam is proud to be part of our great team in New England and we have to say; the feeling is mutual. With team members like Sam, we are confident our team can survive and thrive through any obstacle.
