Give Back Day - Northview Church

Give Back Day – Making a Difference

FinishMaster has a rich history of giving back to our communities through volunteering and fundraising activities. Over the years, FinishMaster team members have devoted their time and resources to support their communities through charity golf outings, bowling tournaments, and food drives.

This year marks the first for our official Give Back Day program. FinishMaster team members are encouraged to spend a day positively impacting the lives of others. Through this program, they will be supporting families and youth organizations, improving schools, and enhancing our community. We know the smallest actions can have the largest impact, and we are committed to our Core Value, “Leave It Better Than We Found It.”

Life Group

Each employee has been encouraged to share their Give Back Day experience. As volunteers, our team members will often be united with others from diverse backgrounds to work toward a common goal, building camaraderie and teamwork as well as our communties.

On April 25, thirteen people from the Life Group at Northview Church, including David Zelner, our VP of National Operations, drove to a home in Fort Wayne, Indiana which had recently been acquired from the city by Brookside Church. The home was uninhabitable and needed to be completely gutted to the studs and rebuilt.

For the next 5 hours, David, his 15 year old son, and their group ripped out carpet, gutted the kitchen, tore out a bathroom, removed a chain link fence, and cleaned up the yard. The work was hard, but the sense of pride and accomplishment they felt from completing all of their projects was more than enough of a reward.Once completed, the house will be a place for ministry to ex-offenders.

Thank you to David, his son, and the entire group of people from Northview Church who worked together to make a difference.
